What's a hi5 home?
A combination of consumer electrical goods, videotex services, home security systems, heating and lighting sensors, home automation etc in a smart home makes it a hi5 home.
It captures the idea that the material environment of the home and domestic tasks are automated. This home is intelligent/smart because it makes domestic chores and makes life easier or more convenient.
What does a hi5 home have?
1) Fixed appliances with predefined pre-established functions.
2) Programmable applications and devices
3) Home automation
4) Biometric Access
5) Light and motion sensors
6) Control of doors and window shutters
7) Security and surveillance control systems
8) User friendly control interface
9) Video streaming
10) Virtual home

Honestly it would be really nice if we could experience these things in person rather than seeing it on paper or the monitor. Are there any projects that have something to show and explain. It makes it more convenient to believe that we can do all this. I am a mango Indian and cannot think beyond a point where the lights go on with motion sensors. The rest is all what I wanna see as to how imagination can be brought to reality :)
ReplyDeleteThese do exist abroad but not here as far as I know. But honestly speaking, why the difference? I think we do have the taste and the standard to demand such a project;. I wonder if there are any that offer this and much more. I would be interested to know.
